Lever Amplified Actuator (LPA-LFPA)

Lever-Amplified Flextensional Piezo Actuators (LFPA) are high displacement mechanically amplified actuators. LFPA actuators include a secondary mechanical amplification to attain motion ranges up to 10mm. Because the moving mass is typically less than that of FPA mechanisms, the LFPA architecture can enable higher dynamic response performance. The motion of the output is arcuate. LFPAs are “Energize to Contract.”

Lever-Amplified Piezo Actuators (LPA) have high dynamic bandwidth capabilities for the nominal displacement range. Displacement ranges up to 1000 µm. The mechanism design provides highstroke operation in an exceptionally small package. The LPA architecture offers relatively high dynamic bandwidth capabilities for the nominal displacement range and mechanism size. LPAs are “Energize to Contract.”
