SBIR Program

DSM is an active participant in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The SBIR program is a highly competitive program that encourages domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization.

Since the company’s founding in 1998, DSM has been awarded more than forty SBIR contracts from U.S. government agencies. DSM’s commercialization of the technologies stemming from these contracts has produced millions in commercial sales.

Commercial R&D

DSM does not limit its development efforts to government entities. Private customers frequently contract DSM to further develop technology and products. The R&D jobs range from the commercialization of SBIR programs to completely independent contracts. Unfortunately, we are unable to display most of our R&D work on our website due to non-disclosure agreements. Please inquire regarding specific application experience.

DSM is always looking for more commercial R&D opportunities. If precision motion control is critical to the success of your application, we invite you to contact us so that we can discuss our relevant experience. DSM supports both “one-off” custom devices and system designs as well as low-medium production volumes.
